Laura Morcom
Dr. Laura Morcom is a Postdoctoral Research Associate. She earned her PhD from the University of Queensland, Australia, where she investigated mechanisms of tissue remodelling during brain development and evolution crucial for formation of the large interhemispheric axon tract, the Corpus Callosum. In 2020, Laura joined the University of Cambridge as a postdoctoral researcher in David Rowitch’s group, where she discovered that selective neuronal vulnerability to DNA damage contributes to neurodegeneration in Multiple Sclerosis. Laura is now investigating the mechanisms and somatic heterogeneity of CAG repeat expansion in Huntington’s disease (HD).
